Today I’m here with another Kloxo tips. Last time when I wrote a post on Kloxo Optimization, got over 600 hits till now where more than 350 from Google Search. Though there was no comment so far, I’m inspired to share my ideas again because of a personal request through Contact Form.
For Low End Boxes, Kloxo is the other name of Performance. You can run a full featured hosting environment even you have only 128MB Memory. Yes, that’s true. Let’s try to find out some fantastic inbuilt features of Kloxo.
Server Technology:
Kloxo has inbuilt two server technologies. You can easily switch from one to another. Those are:
- Apache
- Lighttpd
Apache is the most popular server technology where Lighttpd is an Light Alternative for Low End Boxes. It can reduce your VPS memory usage upto 20% (From my Experience).
DNS Technology:
Again Kloxo has come to us with two DNS technologies, BIND and TinyDNS (djBdns) where BIND is the most professional and resource hungry. And TinyDNS is the light alternative.
Which One Should I use?
I recommend Apache and DjBNDS for better performance and security also. It took 79MB of Memory from my VPS. 5 WordPress based live websites were running there 
. If you want to save more memory, choose Lidgttpd and DjDNDS. Choose the appropriate one from Home > Servers > Localhost > Switch Program.
PHP Type:
For Apache, two PHP types are used. mod_php and suPHP. Permission issues are faced in mod_php and so if you change all files and folder writable, you can be affected. So for security measures, you should use suPHP. You can select from Home > Servers > Localhost > Webserver Config.
